The bowls pet parents keep reaching for
We’ve been using our bowls for over a year and they still look great.
It’s been nice being able to heat up my dog’s food in the microwave and feed her all in one bowl.
Oliver likes using the same bowls daily, which has been problematic in the past when we travel. He would refuse to eat out of new bowls. Now we can take his food and water bowls with us when we travel for work, without having to worry about them breaking, and keep his routine steady. Life saver!
Why We Choose Silicone
A thoughtful material for safer feeding, easier cleaning, and everyday life with dogs and cats.
| Material | Safety | Daily Durability | Mealtime Stability | Cleaning and Care |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silicone (Houndstone) | High quality food-grade silicone, made for repeated food and water contact. BPA free, BPS free, phthalate free, and made with the same silicone material used for human baby products. | Durable, unbreakable, and made to resist chips and cracks. | Designed to stay steady, especially when paired with a Houndstone silicone feeding mat. | Dishwasher safe and microwave safe, with a smooth surface that helps release food easily. |
| Ceramic | Can be a safe option when made with food-safe, lead-free glazes, but glaze quality matters. | Can chip or crack with drops or daily handling. | Often stable due to weight. | Usually dishwasher safe, depending on glaze and finish. Microwave safety depends on the product. |
| Stainless Steel | Can be a safe option when made from high quality food-grade stainless steel. | Strong and long lasting, but can dent over time. | Slides and clinks during meals. | Dishwasher safe and easy to clean, but not microwave safe. |
| Plastic | Quality varies widely. Can scratch with use, allowing for bacteria buildup. | Lightweight, but scratches over time. | Moves during mealtime; not stable. | Generally should avoid exposure to high heat, such as the dishwasher and microwave. |
